Vincent Kneefel

The ocean is Vincent’s biggest passion and his mission is to make people fall in love with the oceans. He became a Divemaster and PADI instructor at the age of 18. After seeing the extraordinary creatures and incredible marine life that live in our oceans, he decided to become an underwater photographer and storyteller. He has witnessed the impacts of overfishing, pollution, ocean acidification, climate change, and habitat destruction on marine life firsthand. Vincent is an award-winning underwater photographer and author on ocean conservation topics and has been published in magazines and NGO campaigns around the world.

He has dedicated his career to safeguarding the ocean’s future by working on sustainability topics like energy transition, circular economy, and biodiversity, and has worked for Accenture, United Nations, and WWF. Vincent is the contributing Ocean Expert with online education platform Sustainability Unlocked. Since 2022, he serves as the Environmental Executive Officer for The Mustique Company in Saint Vincent & The Grenadines.

He is the co-founder of Into the Blue Foundation, a Florida-based 501(c)(3) organization, which he founded with his friend and mentor Michael Patrick O’Neill. Into the Blue Foundation connects people of all ages with the oceans through education, storytelling, and expeditions.

Giants of the Caribbean

From 2012 - 2015 Vincent frequented the Caribbean to capture the beauty of endangered megafauna species and document their stories. The BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico and ocean life being impacted by ocean acidification are clear indicators we no longer can afford to keep on our current trajectory and need to transition to a new economy rapidly. Combining his passion for the ocean with his expertise in Sustainability, this story is about what we can do to turn the tide and how we can conserve a living ocean and planet for future generations.

Giants of the Caribbean is a photo collection of endangered marine species and their stories, beautifully presented in a coffee-table size book (102 pages). Wetpixel published a selection of photos as part of the bi-weekly Full Frame series. Accenture donated over 700 books to clients and 300 people from around the world supported a Kickstarter campaign.
